Willow & Kennedy

Giles arrived on Buffy's doorstep in S7 with several Potential Slayers in tow. One of them, named Kennedy, took an immediate interest in Willow, flirting openly about the sleeping arrangements, but sharing a house with an increasingly large group of young women didn't give the two much opportunity to get to know each other. So when Giles planned to take the Potentials on a field trip, Kennedy played sick in order to stay behind and go to The Bronze with Willow. After this first date, the two kissed, but Willow's guilt at moving on after Tara's death caused a severe, spell-induced breakdown. Kennedy reasoned that if kissing Willow started the breakdown, then another kiss would end it. Surprisingly enough, the plan worked, and the two became a couple.

Their relationship wasn't without conflict, of course. They often clashed over Buffy's leadership methods, and Kennedy didn't seem to understand Willow's "issues" with magick. She began to have some idea, however, after Willow instinctively drained Kennedy's life-energy in the middle of a particularly difficult spell. Kennedy was shaken by the experience and told Willow she'd need some time to come to terms with it, but by the next episode, things seemed to be okay again.

In the series finale, Chosen, Willow undertook an enormous spell that she worried would consume her, and she trusted Kennedy to watch over her during it, not only for moral support but to be the one to kill her if she became a danger to others. Fortunately, she didn't. The spell was nifty.
