Rules of the House

Someone who once "borrowed" some of my work for their site had the nerve to tell me that it was my own fault they did it because I didn't post a note here saying that my work belongs to me. I had assumed that went without saying, but apparently it doesn't. Well, just so there's no confusion...

My work belongs to me.

My work is solely for use on this site and is not to be posted elsewhere without my permission. This includes the site's graphics, as well as wallpapers, fanart, icons, winamp skins, relationship charts... anything I edited/created for use on this site. That also includes the various write-ups/synopses that I've written. Wanna use something I wrote? Ask me, and I'll almost certainly say yes. Don't ask, and you're plagarizing.

Gallery pics belong to the publications in which they originally appeared, and I make no claim of ownership. However, most were scanned and edited for use here by me - due to the time and expense of purchasing and editing these materials, I would appreciate a link back to Fangirl if you use pictures from my galleries on your site.

I consider the comic pics to be relatively "exclusive" to Fangirl, and in deference to Dark Horse Comics I would like to minimize their use elsewhere. Please ask before using them on your site.

Adoptions, such as the dolls, should be saved to your own server, as should the quiz awards. I'm truly honoured if you'd like to display any of these items on your site, but please understand that direct-linking is not allowed. And these items should only be used for their intended purposes (meaning, please don't use a doll from my site as your "email me" button or my AIM icons for your site navigation).

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. The answer will be 'yes' whenever possible. Unless you're one of the people who's repeatedly stolen my work, in which case you can bite me. And have a nice day (^_-)

Added:
In case you think I came on a little strong there... I recently visited the site of someone who has repeatedly stolen from me, apologized, claimed to have learned their lesson, then stolen again over and over. And in addition to finding even more of my materials adorning their webpage yet again, I was flabbergasted to discover that they'd also swiped *THIS SECTION* to post as their "don't steal from me" notice! So please forgive me if I feel the need to spell it out clearly for the ethically impaired.
