Cassie Sandsmark // Wonder Girl
As conceived by John Byrne, Cassandra Sandsmark debuted as an over-eager teenager with two things going for her: quick thinking and bravery. Wanting to help Diana, she "borrowed" the Gauntlet of Atlas and the Sandals of Hermes, which lent her super strength and the ability to fly. But when she was called to Olympus to speak on Diana's behalf, Cassie took Zeus aside and asked him to give her powers of her own. Zeus was so impressed by her boldness that he granted her request, and she became Wonder Girl.

Under Peter David's pen, this Wonder Girl became a spirited, fun-loving, well rounded character. As a member of Young Justice, she often stepped in to act as leader when the publicity-shy Robin chose to stick to the shadows, and she filled the role so well that the team officially elected her to the position. With the dissolution of Young Justice, Cassie joined has the ranks of the Teen Titans.
